Instrumental Teacher

Emily Murphy is a freelance bassoonist and music teacher based in Taunton, Somerset.
Emily has performed with orchestras such as the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, New London Sinfonia, Southern Sinfonia and the London Firebird Orchestra. She is the bassoonist with the Waldegrave Ensemble who have performed at venues such as St. James Piccadilly, Regents Hall and he Old Royal Naval College Chapel.

Emily is a teacher of Clarinet, Saxophone and Bassoon at the prestigious Dame Alice Owen's School and is also a tutor through Bath and North East Music Service. Emily has over 10 years experience teaching children and adults of all ages, on piano, clarinet, saxophone and bassoon.

Emily Murphy graduated from the Royal College of Music in London in 2012 having spent 5 years as a bassoon scholar studying with Andrea di Flammineis, Martin Gatt and Sarah Burnett. Emily also spent several months in Lyon, France studying under Carlo Columbo as part of the Erasmus exchange programme.

TEACHING

Music Lessons in Taunton, Somerset

Emily Murphy has over 10 years experience teaching students of all ages and abilities to play the piano, clarinet, bassoon and saxophone. She currently has a 100% pass rate with both ABRSM and trinity exam boards and is also able to prepare students for Theory exams.


Lessons are available at her home in the centre of Taunton, Somerset, or at pupils homes. There may be an additional charge for travel costs.

A 30 minute initial informal chat and consultation lesson is offered free of charge.
